Childbirth Education
Prenatal/Antenatal classes - Private or group setting
In 2017, I certified as a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (AKA LCCE) and qualified to teach birth classes. In such a medicalised birth society, I’m passionate about helping individuals understand what a physiological birth looks like and what happens in pregnancy and birth in a modern and enjoyable way (No old school birth videos here, sorry!).
Through Little House of Birth, my aim is to educate, support and empower birthing people to promote a safe, natural and healthy pregnancy, birth and postnatal period. The core of Lamaze is established around evidence-based information and focuses on arming you with the knowledge and power to advocate for yourself, while removing fear from the journey.
Introducing, Lamaze’s six Healthy Birth Practices:
LET LABOUR BEGIN ON ITS OWN
WALK, MOVE AROUND AND CHANGE POSITIONS THROUGHOUT LABOUR
BRING A LOVED ONE, FRIEND OR DOULA FOR CONTINUOUS SUPPORT
AVOID INTERVENTIONS THAT ARE NOT MEDICALLY NECESSARY
AVOID GIVING BIRTH ON YOUR BACK AND FOLLOW YOUR BODY’S URGES TO PUSH
KEEP MOTHER AND BABY TOGETHER - IT’S BEST FOR MOTHER, BABY AND BREASTFEEDING
These Healthy Birth Practices were born from years of research to help simplify your birth process with an informed approach.
Sometimes labour doesn’t go as we plan though, so what then? Through our birth classes, we work through possible outcomes to prepare you for a range of situations.
